New Century Transportation Rewards Safe Drivers

A careful eye, quick responses and respect for others on the road are key elements to safe driving. New Century Transportation® is very proud to announce that two of their exceptional and professional drivers have been driving for 20 years with NO ACCIDENTS (That is over 3,000,000 accident free miles).
Without fanfare - in the New Century business style, both James Aguilar and Raymond Birkmire "Birk" were presented with checks for $20,000 each. This is in addition to any safety bonuses they received each year along the way. New Century's policy of safe driving and consideration for others on the road is apparent in the driving methods, but most importantly in the professional way these men carry out their daily responsibilities.
James Aguilar has been driving for over 25 years, the last four with New Century. His objective every day is to "get the job done - bring this piece of equipment back in just the condition I got it - clean, safe, after making my deliveries on time - and park it safely." Upon receiving the award, Mr. Aguilar was just speechless. "This award not only affects me, but affects my family as well. When I came to work for Harry Muhlschlegel (Chairman and CEO of New Century Transportation) over 20 years ago, I had nothing. Now I have a great job, a beautiful family, and a beautiful home. Harry has always been grateful for good employees, and he understands that what drives good people is security."
After driving over the road for many years, Mr. Augilar is now a local driver serving the mid-Jersey marketplace. The best part of his job is "working with all my fellow employees. These co-workers all have the same objective as I do, to get the job done. They are all very positive and a great group of people to work with!" Mr. Aguilar currently resides in South Jersey with his wife. He is proud to have two sons, serving with the Marines in Iraq.
Ray Birkmire has been driving since 1970, and has worked for New Century since its inception. Harry Muhlschlegel presented Birk with this award at a surprise "Safe Driver Party" that Mr. Birkmire's loving wife of 34 years was throwing for her husband. Birk has spent the majority of his time over-the-road. The award came as a shock to both Mr. and Mrs. Birkmire, but not a surprise. "I had tears in my eyes and just could not talk when I opened the envelope Harry gave me. He is the greatest guy in the world to work for. I can walk into his office anytime - for any reason. When I left my last job to come work for Harry, it was because I trusted him and would follow him anywhere."
The best part of Mr. Birkmire's job is delivering the freight and meeting different people coast to coast. His main concerns on the road are keeping an eye on everyone else around you, as "you never know what the person on the right or left of you is going to do next." The Birkmire's live in Philadelphia and have a grown son and daughter.
